In one sentence
In 2 months, turn your research question into a complete quantitative empirical paper (introduction, literature review, methodology, analysis, discussion) ready to submit to your supervisor or to a journal.
Whatever your analysis method
Regression and econometrics, structural equation modeling (SEM / PLS), panel data, time series. Sessions are shared by the whole cohort: we cover what every quantitative paper has in common, along with the data sources and the application conditions specific to each family of methods. Your own questions are handled in office hours.
Who is it for?
PhD candidates in economics, management and business administration (e.g., finance, marketing, management, human resources) running quantitative research, on primary data (survey) or secondary data (existing databases). Purely qualitative projects are not eligible.
What you produce : it is YOUR work
I coach you: you write your own paper. I do not write it for you. I guide you, step by step, so that you do it, and do it well. By the end: a complete manuscript, rigorous and defensible before your supervisor and before a review committee.
Format
6 live sessions (Google Meet)
6 office hours
4 rounds of detailed written feedback on YOUR work
All sessions recorded, 6-month access
Cohort of 5 to 15 seats, by selection
What it covers
- 1
Research question and introduction
- – Frame a research question that is workable and defensible
- – Structure the introduction: context, problem, gap, objective, contribution
- – Position the paper against the existing literature

📄 Research Question & IntroductionCraft a clear, testable research question you can answer with the data you have now, then make the case for it in a six-move introduction.deliverables

Literature review and hypotheses
- – Build a focused literature review, not an exhaustive one
- – Organise the literature by construct and by relationship
- – Derive your hypotheses from theory
- – Move from the review to the conceptual model

📄 From Conceptual Framework to HypothesesAnchor your model in a theory or a reference econometric model, define your added value, and develop an argued hypothesis for each arrow. You leave with a focused literature review and a conceptual framework ready to write up. - 3
Data & methodology
- – Find and obtain your data: primary and secondary sources
- – Sampling: size, representativeness, bias
- – Operationalisation and measurement: scales, indicators, reliability
- – Data preparation: cleaning, missing values, transformations
- – Choose the method that fits your question and your data
- – Write the methodology section

Le Cap - Quantitative Empirical Paper
Your commitment
I acknowledge that this program is a guided accompagnement that requires effort on my part: attending the live sessions and delivering my work on time. I commit to actively attending the scheduled live sessions. Doctoral Compass is in no way obliged to do the work on my behalf, is not responsible for my results, and is not required to refund amounts paid if I disengage. I also understand that materials and recordings remain available for 6 months after the cohort ends, after which they are removed.
Frequently asked questions
My research is qualitative. Can I join?
No. The programme is built around quantitative research: without numerical data, sessions 3 and 4 have nothing to work with. If your design includes a genuine quantitative component, you are eligible; if it is purely qualitative, write to me and I will let you know when a suitable cohort opens.
Do I need to have collected my data already?
No. Session 3 is devoted to finding and obtaining data, both primary and secondary. You do need to arrive with a thesis topic and a sense of what you want to measure.
Can I work with secondary data instead of a survey?
Yes. Existing databases, panels, administrative or market data are accepted on the same footing as survey collection, as long as the analysis stays quantitative.
Which analysis method is taught?
The one your paper needs. Sessions are shared and cover the logic common to all quantitative analysis : choosing the method, application conditions, estimation, validity, interpretation. Regression and econometrics, structural equation modeling (SEM / PLS), panel data and time series are covered at that level, and your own questions are picked up in office hours.
Do I need to know an analysis software?
No prerequisite. If you have never opened SPSS, AMOS, SmartPLS, R or Stata, you can still follow: what matters is understanding what you are estimating and why. The choice of tool is made with you, based on your method.
Do you write the paper for me?
No, and that is deliberate. I coach you so that you write it yourself. If you are looking for someone to write it for you, this is not the right programme, and it is a path I would strongly advise against for your academic career.
What happens if I miss a session?
Every session is recorded and available for six months through Google meet recordings. Deliverables and their deadlines do not change: the rhythm of the programme is what gets a paper finished.
Is there a certificate?
Yes. A certificate of completion is sent automatically on the cohort's closing day to everyone who is up to date with their payments. It states the number of hours and the cohort dates.
